Racing against the clock “So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near, at the doors!” (Matthew 24:33) This letter* is urgent as it addresses the fact that mankind has very little time left before our blessed Redeemer returns for us. This letter will be heavy on verse as I firmly believe the bible can better explain the nearness of Christ’s second coming much better than I can. For your convenience I will list the verses and their corresponding locations in bullet points for ease and clarity. I ask that you please spend the next several minutes studying them for yourself to confirm the urgent nature of this chapter as each one is a specific sign that we are running out of time. Lives are at stake, including yours, so please, don’t just read them, take them to heart and act upon them. “The gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” (Matthew 24:14) The gospel has nearly reached an amazing 95% of the world already thru radio, t.v., internet, and missionary workers. “Until the time of the end...knowledge shall increase.” (Daniel 12:4) With the explosion of the world wide web ushering us on to the information highway this verse is hardly refutable. “Scoffers will come in the last days” (2 Peter 3:3) God’s laws are laughed off and Christians are often made fun of instead of their life giving message being received. In fact, according to a recent study, “only 2% of American student ministers believe in the return of Jesus.* Very scary statistic and quite telling too. “But when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be terrified; for these things must come to pass.” (Luke 21:9) Every time we turn around we are either at war somewhere in the world or on the verge of war. “There will be great earthquakes, famines, and pestilences in various places, and fearful and great signs from heaven.” (Luke 21:11) Almost weekly we read of recent earthquakes, tornadoes, killer floods, people dying from starvation and disease. Aids, Malaria, Cholera, Bird flu, Swine flu, West Nile virus, flesh eating bacteria, the return of the Black Plague, etc.... “The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.” (1 Timothy 4:1) Ignorance about when people go to heaven abounds. Spiritualism is up while the truth about Jesus is scoffed at. We even have presidents consulting psychics and mediums. Witchcraft is all over mainstream t.v., even corrupting our children with movies like Harry Potter and the Twilight series. “But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.” (1 Timothy 3:1-5) This is our times to a tee! I have only listed a few of the verses on the signs of Jesus’ soon return. As you can clearly see though, the evidence is overwhelmingly in favor of His return sooner rather than later. I again implore you to choose right now, if you haven’t already done so, and make Jesus the Lord and Savior of your life.
