Radar is finally showing some elevated showers and t-storms popping across the eastern half of the Metroplex and moving NE at 30 mph. They were supposed to start a couple of hours ago ... oops. Now, dont panic. Even though the atmosphere is spinning and potentially very unstable, remember what we talked about this morning and last night. Elevated showers and storms are not like the ones that develop by breaking through the cap. These are forming ON TOP OF THE CAP. They are nowhere near the intensity of storms that actually punch through from below. They almost never spawn tornadoes nor produce damaging winds, but they can spit out hail from time to time :) So enjoy the rain courtesy of elevated convection.
