Radhika woke me up at 5:30AM today. No, it’s not for Dosa drive ☺. After last week free weekend pass, she made sure that I am part of the Sunday morning yoga ritual this Sunday. After returning from yoga, I have used my morning free time to prune my Mac, and in that process decided to bring my South Africa footage to the open world. It’s been 4 years precisely since I have been to SA. My view of Africa was very limited, incomplete, and wrong prior to the trip. Analogically, it was same as what few in west still thinks of India as a place of elephants and snake charmers. I was completely bowled by what I have experienced in SA for a very brief period that I stayed in few cities around SA, with Cape Town being the favorite place. Here is the 3-minute collage that I prepared this morning using the footage from my archive, which documents ‘lonely’ drive to Cape Town, and drive, around Lion Park.
