Rae King, M.D. For those of you who dont know or havent met Dr. King, an excellent physician and very skilled and experienced surgeon, we want to tell you a little about her. Dr. King grew up in a very small, rural Midwestern community. Her family and friends were surprised that she would want to go to college, much less medical school, as few there had such interests or ambitions. Overcoming tradition in her hometown, she earned college degrees in both Finance/Business Administration and Nursing, and then worked as as a neonatal ICU (NICU) nurse. Subsequently, she attended and received her Medical Degree (M.D.) from Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois. Next, she completed a Transitional Residency in Chicago and an Ophthalmology Residency at Indiana University Purdue University in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was then in private practice in ophthalmology in the Atlanta area, beginning in 2003, prior to joining Carrollton Eye Clinic in 2011. Dr. King is married and has a busy family with two teen-aged sons. She specializes in cataract surgery with a variety of types of lens implants, including multifocal and toric (astigmatism correcting); glaucoma diagnosis, management, and treatment; laser procedures; eyelid surgeries; and Botox injection.
