Rafael Nadal and Maria Sharapova are the reigning French Open champions who have proven that they can win tennis’ most hallowed tournament. They are champions who never quit. But it wasn’t in the cards for Nadal and Sharapova to pack the 2014 Wimbledon trophies inside their equipment bags. Nadal and Sharapova each hit a wall in the fourth round, and it was something much larger to scale than the inspired and fearless play of their conquering opponents Nick Kyrgios and Angelique Kerber, who will now go forward with a chance to make history. Wimbeldon truly is giving us a year to remember in 2014 and whoever appears on center court on Saturday and Sunday will surely provide us with some great entertainment. All remaining games shown in all Ma Nolan’s Formula One returns to its faithful home this weekend when the British Grand Prix takes place at Silverstone where it all began back in the 1950’s and Jenson Button heads into his 15th British Grand Prix not knowing if it may be his last at Silverstone and if he will get the chance beyond this year to end his horrible run in front of home fans. Button is out of contract at the end of this year, and while McLaren have been publicly effusive in their praise of the 34-year-old, that has not stopped the team making forays into the driver market. With this in mind, Button will surely want to impress the home crowd. The GP starts at 14h00 on Sunday Anthony Daly is full off optimism for his Dublin side clash in the GAA Leinster Hurling Final at Croke Park this Sunday against the mighty power of Kilkenny, this might be short lived if last week’s performance by Kilkenny against Galway is anything to go by. The cats are looking to regain the Bob O’Keefe trophy for its rightful resting place by the Nore and are showing that hunger on the pitch. This game alongside the clash of bordering rivals Cork and Kerry in the Munster Football final on Saturday are the highlight of our weekends GAA coverage. And then, there were eight! The beautiful game’s hallowed tournament has come to that exciting part when the final eight the best of the world as they will be known for at least the next few days battle it out for the biggest prize in the sport and right there in the middle is our very own France. We look forward to continuing to watch all games live in what has surely been proven the best atmosphere on the Riviera for this World Cup.
