Ragged edged drifts of smoky cloud are billowing across a murky - TopicsExpress

Ragged edged drifts of smoky cloud are billowing across a murky grey sky that stretches as far as the eye can see - a damp and bedraggled scene that somehow offers a sense of relief - relief that this is more in keeping with the time of year than the last, very pleasant few days of totally anomalous warm sunshine and blue skies that we enjoyed... Yesterday, after the cloudy start, turned out to be very similar to fridays offering of unseasonal warmth and sunshine, and nice as it was, it just felt wrong, somehow... November should be more about cold nights and bonfires than sunbathing in the park, after all... But despite this mornings stiff and chilly breeze here below - bending treetops and rippling through the remaining greenery - the air is still mild, even though we lit the fire last night... it rained in the night, too, and there are still a few fine needles falling now - not what you might call rain, though - more of an afterthought, really, although its enough to give the rooftops a shiny patina, and send occasional ripples chasing across the puddle on the skylight - but yes, the feeling engendered by this mornings offering is definitely one of relief - this is much more in keeping with the way Novembers ought to be! :¬}
