Bobby The Ragin’ Cajuns football team is gearing up for its fourth straight R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, as they take on the University of Nevada Wolf pack on December 20. The University of Louisiana at Lafayette has arranged a number of events next week to get fans in the Ragin’ Cajun spirit. Below is the schedule of events from UL Lafayette’s website (louisiana.edu): Cajun Walk: Official Send-Off Tuesday, Dec. 16 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Reinhardt Drive (“Tigue” Moore Field side) Ragin’ Cajuns football team leaves for New Orleans Bowl with Cajun Walk at 11:45 a.m. Enjoy lunch options from local food trucks and send off the team – Cajuns style! A series of events for fans in New Orleans kicks off on Thursday night: Ragin’ Cajuns Parade Sponsored by The Advocate Thursday, Dec. 18 9 p.m. – until New Orleans Marriott, 555 Canal St. The Pride of Acadiana Marching Band will lead fans along Bourbon Street in second line fashion. Fans are encouraged to bring Mardi Gras beads to throw while walking the parade route. Some beads will be provided by the Lafayette Convention and Visitors Commission. Ragin’ Cajuns Fan Fest Sponsored by Home Bank Friday, Dec. 19 3 – 5:30 p.m. New Orleans Marriott, 555 Canal St. This reception in the Grand Ballroom will be open to all Ragin’ Cajuns fans, with live music provided by Geno Delafose and French Rockin’ Boogie. A cash bar will be available. A graduation ceremony will be held for senior football student-athletes and support staff. New Orleans Bowl Friday Night Concert Friday, Dec. 19 6:30 – 10 p.m. Champions Square There will be live music. Food and beverages will be available for purchase from a variety of vendors at Champions Square for this free concert featuring Kool and the Gang and Cheap Trick. R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl Tailgate Party at Champions Square Saturday, Dec. 20 8 – 9:30 a.m. Champions Square Enjoy live music provided by a local deejay outside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Get ready for the big game with great entertainment, food and beverages. 2014 R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl Saturday, Dec. 20 Gates open at 8:30 a.m. Kickoff is at 10 a.m. Mercedes-Benz Superdome The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns face the Nevada Wolf Pack.
