So pls order your MP via SMS that Sachin should be or should NOT be given Bharat Ratna, and whether Cricket Boards should be taxed. Bharat Ratna should be reserved ONLY for those who have given remarkable work in Military , Police , science, weapon manufacturing, engineering or medicine. It should NOT be given to career politicians, career sportsmen, movie starts and pen heroes i.e. literary-contributors like poets , novelists etc. As of today, Sports is NOT a criteria for Bharat Ratna. But Pepsi Cola owners are paying big bucks to Ministers to amend Bharat Ratna category to add sports in it. I am not sure if Pepsi Cola has been successful. But given the Congress Ministers appetite for Pepsi cola and Pepsi money , they may do it any day or it might have been done. Sachin has been a great cricketer. But at the end of the day, sports as of today is just an entertainment. Just because Sachin has entertained billions is NO criteria to give him Bharat Ratna. Bharat Ratna should be reserved for those who have done exemplary work to protect lives of Indians from enemies (Military, Police, weapon science, weapon engineering) or protect lives (exemplary work in medicine) or create qualitative improvement in engineering in India (because finally medicine and Military depend on engineering). Bharat Ratna should NOT be for entertainers, no matter much entertainment and excitement they provide. Sachin so far has been great entertainer, but thats about it. For that matter, I find many movie producers (like George Lucas) and starts the best entertainers. But that does NOT qualify for national honors of highest orders. Sports started in ancient ages across world to improve health wrt strengthening Military and Police. IOW, sports were useful to society. But today, sports have lost link with Military and also lost link with health. Today, sports is just entertainment only Now, I have NOTHING against 100% commercialization of sports, because there is NO dishonesty on commercialization of sports and I dont mind sportsman praising unhealthiest products, be liquor or sugar water or ciggarattes or whatever. Its their choice. After all, my own fields, software and politics, are 100% commercial too. And IMO honest commercialization is good, NOT bad at all. But my point is --- something that is 100% commercial should not be linked with HIGHEST NATIONAL HONOR. So please order your MP via SMS not to give Bharat Ratna to Sachin. ==== In addition, second issue is that tax exempt status to Cricket Board is causing losses of 1000s of crores of taxes rupees. And that is weakeining Indian Military, Indian police, Indian courts and all sectors that depend on taxes. IOW, continuation of tax exempt status of cricket board is the BEST way we can help criminals and our enemies like Pakistan, China, USA etc. So I request ALL to order MPs via SMS to end tax exempt status for cricket boards, and tax them at par with other corporates. ==== And if case you disagree with me , pls feel free to order MPs via SMS to give Bharat Ratna to Sachin. And you may order MPs via SMS to continue tax exempt status to cricket. As such there is no need, as Pepsi owners are already paying Ministers to give Bharat Ratna to Sachin, and given that so many Ministers like Sharad Pawar are in-charge of cricket boards, tax exempt status is hear to stay, unless 40 crore voters order otherwise.
