Raiders Best - Saturday 30/08 Big day at Caulfield today with the first G1 of the season being run in race 8, the Memsie Stakes. A great supporting card makes for a great day of racing with some value to be found. R2 - Very keen on the Hawkes runner, LORNA MAY in this one. Maps well, and will settle around the front which will be an advantage today with the rail out 6m. Form around Rock Sturdy last start reads well and appreciates the firm track. Big chance. R6 - Very good future for alot of these horses, but the one that I am most keen on is STINGRAY. Progressing through the grades nicely, I think he is ready to win one. With the apparent speed in the race, we should see the all lime silks sprouting wings in the final stages to claim this one. R7 - Tough race to dissect with many chances. Gregers was very impressive last start, but is now short enough and doesnt pose any real value. Based on trials, COMMANDING JEWEL is the one Ill be on. Is the best horse in the field in my opinion, and is formlines prove it. Although Gregers will be hard to beat, give me $8 any day for this mare and I will happily take it. R8 - As are a lot of people around the country are, I am very, very keen on BOBAN to take out the Memsie. It has been well documented how well he ran last start after blowing the jump, and based of that, the rise to 1400m is ideal. Chalk up another G1 to Waller.
