Raiders to play in London in 2014 By Paul Gutierrez The Oakland Raiders may not be sure exactly where their longtime home is going to be, but it was announced Tuesday they will be playing a regular-season home game at London’s Wembley Stadium in 2014. The exact date and opponent will be announced at a later date, but the NFL generally tries to have a team play in Europe the week after playing on the East Coast. The Raiders are scheduled to play at New England and the New York Jets next season, as well as at the AFC North team that finishes in the same place as the Raiders this season. As far as potential opponents the Raiders could face in London, Oakland has home games against Buffalo, Miami, Arizona, San Francisco and the AFC South team that finishes in the same place, in addition to AFC West opponents Denver, San Diego and Kansas City. The Raiders’ game will be one of three NFL regular-season games to be played in London next year, along with Jacksonville and Atlanta playing host to respective games. Oakland played an exhibition game at old Wembley Stadium against New Orleans on Aug. 5, 1990.
