Raila Odinga is constantly putting Kenya in campaign mood which is not good for business as new investors are always quite sensitive to political uncertainty. The result is reduced investment potential. Secondly, jubilee drew up a ten year manifesto with the estimates that the county government will have adequate funds. A referendum is extremely costly and it will be followed up by the general election; another costly exercise. Our recurrent expenditure is over 50% of our budget, meaning the referendum will have to be footed by funds from the development expenditures by cutting projects in certain ministries. That will leave the government with very limited funds for development and then cord will have grounds to attack Jubilee for not fulfilling its promises.
