Railroad work to close 181 in Todd County Repair work at a railroad crossing will close a major roadway in Todd County this next week. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says KY 181 will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday at the railroad crossing while track repair is done by CSX. Motorists heading south toward Guthrie will need to detour onto KY 848 east at Penchem and then take US 79 south to Guthrie. Motorists heading north will have to stay on 79 and then take 848 west to 181. CSX will close Merriweather Street in Guthrie at the railroad crossing September 9 through 13. Motorists are urged to allow extra time for the detours, which are marked with signage. 08/29/2013/am
