“Rain Man” proved to be a great rainmaker. Within a year, Sylvester Stallone, Kurt Russell and Teri Hatcher were here making “Tango & Cash,” and Tom Selleck was starring in “An Innocent Man.” “A Rage in Harlem,” “Little Man Tate,” “City of Hope” (all 1990), “Lost In Yonkers,” “The Public Eye” (1991) “Milk Money” and “Aireborne” (1993) quickly followed. In recent years, Ohio film-making incentives have lured Hollywood back to shoot “The Ides of March,” Marvel’s “The Avengers” and Emilio Estevez’s “Johnny Longshot.” “It’s been a joy,” said Pompilio’s Mazzei. “It’s the kind of publicity you couldn’t plan for, and certainly couldn’t afford, if you had to pay for it.” ‘RAIN MAN’ LOCATIONS • Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate • St. Anne Convent, Melbourne • Home on Beechcrest Lane, East Walnut Hills • Pomilio’s restaurant, Newport • Dixie Terminal Building, Downtown • Roebling Suspension Bridge • Columbia Parkway • Vernon Manor, Avondale • WCET-TV studio, Downtown • Terminal 2, Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport • Interstate 275 (Exit 11, Petersburg) • Hearthstone Motel, Metamora, Ind. 10 THINGS YOU DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT ‘RAIN MAN’ 1.
