Rain chances stay at zero until Sunday when a strong cold front is - TopicsExpress

Rain chances stay at zero until Sunday when a strong cold front is expected to arrive late in the day. It looks like severe weather will be possible from Missouri to the Red River, but farther to the south, here in the Metroplex, it is not so clear. The cap will be very strong over north Texas, and that will need to be overcome to get the good rains to fall locally. Also, due to the fast movement of the cold front, there is a good chance that even if the storms go severe, the cold air will quickly undercut them causing them to fall and weaken below severe levels just about as fast as they form. So it is something to watch for late Sunday into early Monday morning. If the cap is weaker, and if the cold front slows down, this could be at a much higher threat level than it looks like right now.
