... Rain mixed with snow possible across northwest parts of the region Thursday morning... then and again Thursday night through Friday morning... Widespread rain is expected to occur across the region tonight and Thursday. Snow may begin mixing with the rain around daybreak Thursday morning northwest of a line from Cisco to Weatherford to Denton to Denison. A changeover to all snow is possible for an hour or two after daybreak Thursday morning across these areas. Precipitation should gradually transition back to a cold rain during the afternoon hours Thursday. Still... some snow flakes or light snow could mix in during the afternoon but additional accumulations of snow are not expected. Air and ground temperatures are expected to remain above freezing with most snow either melting or briefly accumulating on grassy surfaces and elevated surfaces not warmed by the ground. At this time... any snowfall accumulations are forecast to be less than one inch and will not result in significant impacts on area roads or highways... though some slush could occur on less traveled secondary roads. Light snow may mix with the rain as far south and east as a line from Lampasas to Athens late Thursday night and Friday morning. Air and ground temperatures will again remain mostly above freezing outside of a brief hour or two around daybreak Friday morning across areas well northwest of the dfw metroplex. Where temperatures do fall to freezing... some very minor accumulations of snow may occur on grassy surfaces... but otherwise no accumulations of snow are expected. No travel impacts are expected from any light snowfall late Thursday night into Friday morning.
