Rain showers are expected to move into areas west of the James - TopicsExpress

Rain showers are expected to move into areas west of the James River by midday. The rain will then progress eastward through the afternoon, with more widespread rainfall reaching the Interstate 29 corridor around afternoon drive time, and the US Highway 71 corridor from Windom to Spencer and Storm Lake around sunset. The steadier rainfall will last around 3 to 5 hours in most locations before it shifts off to the east. Rainfall amounts will largely be on the lighter side from a tenth to a quarter inch for much of eastern South Dakota and western Minnesota. Heavier amounts in excess of a quarter to a half inch will be possible for portions of extreme southeast South Dakota, northeast Nebraska and northwest Iowa.
