Rained out this weekend? Come visit CBF next weekend @TheCheeseTour! Here is a list of all the fun next Saturday and Sunday from 10AM to 4PM... CONSIDER BARDWELL FARM – CHEESE TOUR WEEKEND ACTIVITIES Consider Bardwell Farm Big Top Tent Taste and Takeaway--All of our award-winning cheeses will be available for tasting and purchase. Our staff will be there to meet and greet and answer questions about the cheeses as well as recommend wine and food pairings for the cheeses. Grilled Cheese "Pawlettie" Sandwiches will be made to order from our Pawlet cheese. How to Make Cheese – our cheese makers will give talks at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm to everyone who wants to hear about how our cheeses are made and aged in our caves. Hayrides! – our farmers will talk about how our dairy goats and cows are raised, fed, and milked as they give hayride through our farm. Our Store – visit our honor system, self-serve store to purchase veal, pork, and eggs and more. Our Barn – self-tour with friends and kids. Our farmers will have informative signs posted throughout, telling visitors how the milking system operates and how the goats live and work! Meet the Dairy Goats – Our friendly goats will greet visitors from their pasture in front of the barn. Other West Pawlet Farms participating in our festivities: Wayward Goose Farm – our next-door cow-dairy partners. Laurie Brooks will make and sell apple pie wedges with slices of our Pawlet cheese. Laurie is also one of our local artists and will show her amazing work. Dan Brooks will make grilled corn on the cob slathered with flavorful spices. Pine Wood Farm – Jon and Karen Folger and Karen’s sister, Carla Kuchar, owner of Zest Catering, will serve cheese dogs and savory tarts made from our Pawlet cheese and Pine Wood’s famous pork and beef. Pitchfork Preserves – Melissa Comar will make and sell big delicious fizzy drinks from her homemade fruit syrups and sell her amazing jarred preserves. RAFFL (Rutland Area Family and Farm Link) will have a table selling chances for a drawing that will take place at their annual fundraising dinner. They will also be bringing fresh veggie samples that complement cheese nicely along with recipe cards from their Everyday Chef program. They will also be giving out information about their Glean Team, hoping to sign up some new volunteers for the team. RAFFL gleans with two Washington County farms – Kilpatrick and Perry’s Potatoes.
