Rainfall warning in effect for: Sydney Metro and Cape Breton County Rain, heavy at times is expected. The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall. A low pressure system will approach from the southwest today and track through the Bay of Fundy and into the Gulf of St Lawrence tonight into Sunday. Rain or snow will develop ahead of the system this afternoon then change to rain at times heavy this evening before ending early Sunday morning. Generally 25 to 50 millimetres of rain is expected. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Rainfall Warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
