Rainwalker: This all came to me in a dream, the images of rain, (we are in a severer drought )the Danny Kirwin, Peter Green harmonized guitar melody and the fifties “ice cream” chord changes. I woke up, wrote it down and then made a little demo to get it out of my head before I forgot it. I figure I got about half of it right. I had been thinking of writing a song with a melody that sounded familiar and old and simple with as few notes as possible, a sort of fifties, sixties sound with clear sounding guitars and string bends. It has a weird grace note , a flat 4th, which I suppose isn’t correct but , hey, it more or less works. I figure I will redo this at some point and make a better recording using the SG and Les Paul to get a better contrast in the tone...I think it would be better better with a darker sounding guitar, the Les Paul and the more brittle sounding SG with more separation and a little more reverb. I was going for that old Fleetwood Mac sound. Here is something I find disturbing, this sounds a hundred times better on an old analog tape; Im all for scientific advancement and mp3s are not an advancement. If I were a professional musician working at my craft I would certainly be disturbed that people were hearing only half of my creations.
