Rainy day--a good afternoon to lie quietly and listen to PARTNERS again. Barbras voice throughout is like a lovingly and expertly played viola, rich and warm and powerful. One reviewer noted that she has surely one of the finest instruments God ever gave anyone. No arguement there. I also think that singing duets with men enhances that richness; she can still go to the high notes (as with Bocelli) but even those are more resonant than they used to be. I am struck again by the way she caresses the lyrics with natural waves and intriguing turms. Jason has a very similar and just as natural way of riding the words in fine curves and perfect inflections. We are really blessed to have been able to sweeten our auditory nerves over the years with Barbs voice and feel it spread the serotonins and dopamines across our minds in frequencies of total beauty.
