We will be travelling to Jerusalem (InshaAllah) on the 15th of July and will spend the last 10 days of Ramadan in Masjid Al-Aqsa to help with this noble cause. Iftar will also be distributed in one the poorest Palestinian camps in Ramallah. This trip has been organised by Zaimah and members from the organisation shall be accompanying us on this blessed journey to Jerusalem, Masjid Al-Aqsa. Important information regarding the organisation (Zaimah) and the iftari charity appeal: The charity is 100% donation free. The charity is 100% run by volunteers and has no paid staff. All our donations are used for charitable use. Zaimah launched in December 2012 and started functioning from March 2013. A team visited Masjid al-Aqsa in Ramadan 2013 and alhamdulillah on the last 10 nights provided more than £20,000 in Iftari which was done on behalf of a beloved member Adel Hussain (rh) of Al Buruj Press who passed away. All Iftari will be provided on the last 10 nights of Ramadan which are the most blessed nights. The Iftari was provided in Masjid al-Aqsa and also in the Ramallah Camp, the worst refugee camp in Palestine. All the Iftari is hand delivered to selected people to ensure it reaches those in most need. Zaimah have a fully functional team in Palestine helping and alhamdulillah work closely alongside the Imam of Masjid al-Aqsa. The plan for Ramadan 2014 is now to raise as much money possible to be able to provide a larger amount of Iftari. This will also raise awareness of the Mosque and the great difficulties surrounding it. Masjid al-Aqsa is the 1st direction of prayer in Islam and is the place where the Prophet Muhammad (saw) was ascended to the heavens. In addition as the hadith states, there is not a place in Masjid al-Aqsa a Prophet has not prayed in. Indeed it is a blessed place! There is a great need to provide Iftari as many struggle due to severe poverty.
