The DGP stressed upon the officers to implement the action plan for the security of voters and polling booths. He said that maintenance of law and order should be the priority during polls, so that people could participate in the democratic process in a congenial atmosphere. Mr. Rajendra appreciated the officers for their efforts made during the two phases of elections. He said that some hypersensitive constituencies of the districts including Baramulla, Budgam and Pulwama are going for polls and the security agencies have to undertake constant surveillance in these areas to foil any subversive act. Naka checking and night patrolling in these areas should be undertaken jointly by the police and para-military forces to ensure peaceful polling. Mr. Rajendra stressed upon the officers to maintain close co-ordination within their ranks and other agencies to deal with any emergent situation in their respective jurisdictions.
