Raju Age, a 17 year old youngster, who happened to be a dalit,was brutally beaten up and murdered over his alleged affair with an upper caste girl in ANagar district of Maharashtra two days ago. The Joint Action Committee for Improvement of Higher Education in Maharashtra wholeheartedly condemns this and will organise protests in Mumbai in order to pressurise the Maharashtra Govt to act quickly. Knowing the power dynamics in these areas, it is entirely possible that the case is hushed up. Hence too, protest is necessary. Will inform you of the exact details by tomorrow morning.
