Rally held in West Bank to voice support for Gazans Palestinians of the occupied West Bank have stepped up their protest against the Israeli regime’s aggression on the besieged Gaza Strip, Press TV reports. On Saturday, hundreds of Palestinians staged a rally in al-Manara square in central Ramallah, where they voiced solidarity with victims of Israel’s offensive against the blockaded sliver. The demonstrators called on the international community to boycott Israeli products in an effort to stop Israeli crimes against Palestinians. They also urged the Palestinian unity government to step up measures to bring Israeli leaders before the International Criminal Court. “This demonstration is in solidarity with our people in Gaza, against the massacres that are conducted against our people there,” said Mostafa Barghouthi, a Palestinian activist at the protest, adding that the protest also aimed at “initiation of a huge campaign to boycott Israeli products.” “We want to eliminate the Israeli profit, which they are making form selling their products in Palestine because they use this profit to kill our children and our people in Gaza.” The Palestinian activists stressed the role of the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) campaign against Tel Aviv. Israeli warplanes have been carrying out incessant airstrikes against Gaza since July 8. Early on Thursday, thousands of Israeli soldiers launched a ground invasion into the densely-populated strip. So far, nearly 350 people have been killed by the Israeli regime despite pressure by international community. The Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, has been launching retaliatory attacks against Israel. Nearly 70 rockets were fired from Gaza at Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv, Ashdod, Eshkol, Ashkalan, on Saturday, which triggered sirens in central Israel. Palestinian resistance movement Hamas reiterated earlier in the day that it would not accept any truce with the occupation unless Gaza’s blockade is permanently lifted and Palestinian prisoners are set free.
