Ralph Myers (Artistic Director of Belvoir 2011-2014) gave the 2014 Philip Parsons Memorial Lecture the other day. Its always interesting and this year Myers specifically offered a critique of an increasing tendency for key positions in the performance/arts sector to be consumed by managers over artists - its a nice little piece and relevant to anyone interested in the direction of our major theatre companies so I thought if anyone hasnt already seen it they might enjoy agreeing/disagreeing with it! theguardian/culture/2014/dec/01/ralph-myers-lets-keep-the-dreamers-in-charge-of-the-arts
