Ram 1st Team had a real crunch match on Saturday with a top of the table clash against Bartons Reserves. The inclusion of a couple of first teamers showed how seriously Bartons were taking it. Neither team had really got started when Adam Underwood scored with a tidy top corner finish from a quickly taken corner. The rest of the first half seemed to go by in a flash. Ram failed to add to their tally but were growing into the game with every minute and the defense was looking steady as ever. As with the first half, the second started with an early Ram goal to calm any nerves. The referee awarded a penalty for handball which was dispatched by yours truly. Ram Meadow were showing their credentials as they won individual battles all over the park. Jordan Marlow scored another after a through ball from Tom Frost, and Kaine Lee Fryer put the tie beyond any doubt with a tidy finish. As a manager I was immensely proud of everyone who pulled on a blue shirt on Saturday. All over the park people showed me that they want to win. From the defense and makeshift keeper Stephen Rutter keeping a second clean sheet on the spin, to a very combatative midfield working from minute 1 to the final whistle. In truth their could have been 11 man of the matches but it went to Muppet Game on Saturday is against Beck Row away. Lets try and make ourselves available and keep our winning run going
