Ramachandra Guha talks about democracy in India and his new book on Gandhi: He was an ambitious man, but he was also a questioning man, you know, ceaselessly asking himself questions about himself, about his society, about the world, expanding his vision. The thing about Gandhi was he attracted people who could argue back, expand his world view and make him much more of a universal figure than hed been.
