Ramadan is not punishment to Muslims, it is is a deciplinary school, which when enters cleansing u and rest your digesting system. Ramadan is a friend of the Muslim ummah and God has made it very simple for us.God said that pregnant women as every one knows are patients and are not supposed to fast, it also says that mothers who have just gave birth are not supposed to fast until both of them are well and pay back their debts. If a woman has a small baby or is pregnant which makes her unable to fast do not lead her to fidyah or kaffarah. What than is kaffarah and fidyah. Kaffarah is the things that one does to invalidates his or her fasting, penalty for deliberately breaking a fasting you have made intention to fast is fasting for 60 days continuesly or freeing a slave and fidyah is what persons who are too old to fast or persons who are sick and cant fast give out. Example is a very old person who will not be able to keep Ramadan fasts and make-up fasts until death and a patient for whom there is no hope of recovery eat and drink secretly. A hadith-i sharif says, An elderly person who is too old to fast and a patient for whom there is no hope of recovery give fidyah [a compensation paid by a person who does not keep fast in Ramadan
