Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama Visakhapatnam undertook further course of hudhud relief work. A team from the Mission went to the remote villages in Madugula Mandalam and distributed one solar light with a solar mobile charger, and two blankets. The target families are 1000, and the distribution is being done in several phases. Those villagers are totally deprived of electricity. They use kerosene oil lamps in the night. Though most of them have mobile phones they cannot charge phones in their villages. So they walk every day as much as 20 kilometers to charge their mobiles by paying money, they walk the same distance to buy kerosene and other commodities. Night remains very chilled there. Temperature in a village called Lambasingi which is about 50 kilometers away from our distribution point went as low as 4 degrees centigrade last night, we were told. So after getting these two useful things we could see happiness on their faces. The reservoir in the below photos is the bonus that we got after going to the same distribution point in the faraway village.
