Ramesh bhai watch man called us from Lotus Court, Behind Landmark Building, Race Course Circle for this sweet young girl on 13th October, 2014 This poor girl was run over by a vehicle on all legs and has sever lacerated injuries at right fore leg and the skin has peeled off to the extent that the radial bone and carpal joint are completely exposed. The left fore leg is lacerated at the elbow and at the carpus joint. The left hind leg is lacerated at the paw and phalanges and right hind leg at tarsal joint and paw. The poor girl has severe injuries on all four legs and is unable to walk. She has been treated symtomaticaly at VCARE Aashiayana and is being given all the care needed to see her through this painful, traumatic time. Her recovery depends on her response to the treatment and our primary aim is to reduce her pain and get her mobile as soon as possible. This girl is being fed along with many other dogs by a mother and daughter team of dog lovers from Pashabhai Park and they go around in a rickshaw with milk and other food, feeding stray dogs in the Race Course Circle area. Our question is that should they also not be looking after the welfare of dogs they feed? When an organisation like ours tries to help dogs they feed and claim as theirs at the behest of well wishers in case of accidents and injuries , these ladies turn aggressive and phone and threaten our staff at VCARE Aashiayana claiming that we have stolen and hijacked their dogs. These are all steet dogs, mind you! If they cared so much, should they not have done something for this poor girl? We face a lot of problems and jealousy in our work and one would think that such people should be grateful that we try to help as many animals in need as possible and not throw obstacles in our way. But that is not so.
