Rameshchandra is a cine playback singer who sings mainly in Kannada. He got a major break & shot to fame with his first song “O mallige...” from the movie Anuraga Sangama when he won the Karanataka State Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer. He has endeared himself to listeners with his melodious voice. Rameshchandra continued his melodious journey by singing many more melodies like “Malagu malagu charulathe” in the movie “O Mallige”for music director V. Manohar. He won his second state award in 2000-2001 for his song “Arabiya kadalalli” in a Malabar Muslim folk style for the movie “Munnudi”. Rameshchandra has sung numerous songs for movies and has recorded many Hindu, Muslim, Christian devotional songs and light music cassettes and compact discs. He has rendered more than 4000 songs in 12 languages : Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Tulu, Hindi, Marathi, Kodagu, Konkani & Lambani etc. Rameshchandra has performed in several television shows and music concerts in India & abroad. He has a archestra troup called Sangama and started Sangama kalakshethra trust to encourage new talents of Karnataka. Rameshchandra was our guest of “Vaarada Atithi” a LIVE chat show on Wednesday 21st January 2015 aired from 9am to 10am over Vividhbharati Bengaluru 102.9FM.
