Randa Morris 55 mins · My question is: when are the feds coming to investigate Michigan? I have personally done enough research into Snyders finances to be 100 percent certain that he has abused his power as governor to ensure personal profit both for himself and former business associates, such as Chris Rizek. Between the two of them, they have probably made billions in taxpayer money. As Mitt Romney would say the blind trust is an age old ruse. What about Skunk works? What about Snyders secret fund that took money from undisclosed donors and then used it to pay Kevin Orr? As far as cousin George is concerned, we KNOW beyond a shadow of a doubt that Snyder steered government contracts and taxpayer funds to a family member, and that is illegal. So much dirty business is going on in Snyders administration that when someone does finally blow the lid off it, I hope he will spend years behind bars. The fact of the matter is we CANNOT expect the republican controlled courts and AGs office to do their job, theyre all corrupt and they all work for the same people (hint, those people are not Michigan taxpayers). My question AGAIN is: where are the feds? Whats taking so long? Theres more than enough proof to warrant an investigation of Snyders entire administration so when are they coming? - When Stephen Henderson and others in the media seem to shrug their shoulders at the $41 million scandal involving Gov. Snyders cousins state furniture contract, they dont seem to appreciate what went on there and how it is linked to Snyders dark money legacy. Snyders cousin, George, was profiting from the contract, then priced at $19 million, and the Senate wanted to cut back on state furniture purchases in the midst of a budget crisis that could have reduced the contract to $1 million. Cousin George immediately contacted Snyders Mr. Dark Money, aka Transformation Manager Rich Baird, to complain. Baird and other Snyder officials sprung into action and got a Republican-controlled Legislature to back off from the office furniture cuts and then the administration upped the furniture contract to $41 million while schools were being cut and taxes raised on retirees. To accept that this is just business as usual in state government--as Snyder asserts--you must also accept that a)state vendors can and do routinely contact the Governors top aide to get their contract problems solved, b)That it is OK that the aide who helped fix the contract problem was also responsible for running the NERD corporate slush fund for the governor and to this date has kept corporate contributions to the fund secret, c)that we dont know if either of the two corporations profiting from the furniture contract gave to the NERD fund because those contributions are kept secret and, finally, d)we do know that they, their family and employees have contributed more than $50,000 to Rick Snyders political campaigns. Call it pay to play, quid pro quo, business as usual--call it anything you want--but you cant call it public service. Dark money a part of Rick Snyders legacy as governor Gov. Rick Snyder signed a campaign finance bill into law that blocked an opportunity to bring sunlight to Michigan’s dark money political campaigns. FREEP.COM
