Randall, We’ve had a long, cold winter, but that hasn’t stopped Sean from crisscrossing the district, listening to the stories of families in our region, and sharing his vision for the 19th congressional district. From Chatham to Cooperstown, Sean’s been hearing about the changes voters in NY-19 hope to see in Washington. It’s clear folks are tired of the political games our current Congressman Gibson plays, like refusing to raise the debt ceiling last February. And they agree with Sean that boosting the minimum wage to $10.10/hour is right for our communities. Over the last few months, Sean has earned the endorsement of Democratic committees from all corners of NY-19, including Dutchess and Rensselaer. He’s also been honored to receive the endorsement of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund and the Working Families Party, who noted that his leadership in the fight for marriage equality and fair elections is experience hard-working New Yorkers want to see in Washington. Sean sat down with Alan Chartock at WAMC to discuss critical issues for our community, like how we can prevent fracking and protect Medicare and Social Security. He spoke with Jimmy Buff on Woodstock Radio about why we need campaign finance reform. It’s not been all politics for Sean. He’s continued his work at Hudson River Ventures to support small businesses in our community and create jobs, and to help our region adapt to the quickly evolving economy. In February, he partnered with SUNY New Paltz to launch a first-of-its-kind 3D printing innovation center at the college. Sean also joined young entrepreneurs at Bard College’s C2C Fellows Sustainability Workshop to discuss how we build the economy of the future. And with spring finally here, we announced this week that nearly 6,000 people signed petitions to place Sean on the Democratic line in NY-19 this fall. With 11 counties and 165 towns in this beautiful district, we have a lot of ground to cover in the next seven months. But we’re excited for the work ahead and inspired every day by the thousands of supporters who’ve joined us from across NY-19.
