Random Acts of Kindness Heres your next dosage of a feel good Friday before the weekend begins! • Tom would like to say thank you to Kerrie and two other witnesses who saw him fall after cycling along the Princes Highway in Heathcote last week. Tom struck an object at a fairly high rate of speed and hit the asphalt hard. Kerrie, alongside two other individuals stopped their vehicle to check if he was okay. Tom suffered numerous cuts and bruises but didnt require further medical attention. He appreciates those that stopped and helped! • Jason would like to say thank you to the lifeguards along with the emergency services and medical staff that assisted him after suffering a fractured spinous process. Approximately 8:00am last week, Tuesday (13/1), Jason was on his bodyboard at North Cronulla when he speared into the sandbank. He heard a frightening crunch in his neck and began screaming in pain. His friend was able to alert lifeguards that responded swiftly and efficiently, according to Jason. He was placed onto a surfboard by lifeguards and brought ashore with the Surf Life Saving Jetski. Emergency services arrived and began treatment. Jason was transported to St George Emergency where he learnt through CT scans that he had fractured his spinous process on his C4 vertebrae. Jason is lucky to still have full movement in his limbs and is due to the effort of those involved on Tuesday. If it wasnt for the professionals on that day, things could have been worse. He greatly appreciates the help of strangers during his time of need. • Gillian would like to say thank you to the separate individuals who returned her engagement ring and wedding ring after it had fallen off near Centrelink in Sutherland. Due to heavy rain, she was in a rush and didnt realise they had fallen off. Both items were handed into Sutherland police station with Gillian extremely grateful for the honesty of both individuals. • Beth would like to say thank you to the two men that assisted her at Menai Marketplace on the weekend. The two young gentlemen offered to help load her groceries into her vehicle as they noticed her struggling. Beth, at the age of 72 doesnt have the muscles that she used to, so she greatly appreciates the offer from complete strangers.
