Random Fact: The Saluki is considered one of the oldest dog breeds in the world. It could also be considered one of the most beautiful given their slender racing build and graceful flowing ears. The origins of the Saluki are believed to be from somewhere in China, although no one is entirely sure. Commonly found in the desert regions of Central Asia and the Middle East, theyre believed to have slowly trickled their way out west along the Silk Road being domesticated by traders and inhabitants living in/around the various ancient trading routes. This photo here shows a Kazakh teen with his own elegant Saluki in Uzbekistans Kyzul Kum Desert.
