***Random Question*** So. We live in a 3 story house. Our bedrooms are on the top floor, and our laundry is in the basement. I feel bad even admitting this because its SUCH a 1st World Problem (I mean were lucky we even have a 3 story home let alone a washer and dryer!) ... BUT ... I HATE having to haul the laundry up and down two flights of stairs. I honestly almost never go in our basement ... pretty much only to do laundry. So ... when we had the walls ripped out of our kitchen, we asked our contractor how hard it would be to move the Washer and Dryer upstairs ... the good news is, he said, actually, not hard at all. He had already opened up the wall where we would need to run the water pipes and electricity and the drain, so we had him do that while he was working on the kitchen. (Sorry, this is turning into a much longer post than I intended :) ) Anyway ... here is my question ... two questions actually. We are waiting to hear from him how much he thinks it would be to finish everything. And heres the kicker ... not only would we get the laundry on the same floor as all the bedrooms, but we would actually end up with a MUCH bigger closet! (I know it doesnt make any sense, but our Master Bedroom is very LONG and skinny ... weird 70s homes:) ) AND it would open up the basement to someday add a third FULL Bath, the laundry area is HUGE :) Questions 1: If you were buying a home, and you had to choose between two pretty much identical homes except one home had the laundry on the same floor as the bedrooms instead of the basement, would that make a huge difference in your decision? Yes or No? (See, as a military family we always have to take moving into account.) And Question 2: How much would you be willing to pay to NOT have to haul your laundry up and down, up and down, up and down?? AND have almost twice the closet space? 1) >$1000 2) >$2000 3) >$3000 4) >$4000 5) You wouldnt do it, waste of money Seriously ... what would you do? :)
