Random Thought Religious beliefs and scientific beliefs are not - TopicsExpress

Random Thought Religious beliefs and scientific beliefs are not the same thing at all. The scientist is eager to test his belief, finding out whether it is true or not, justified or not whereas the religious person is afraid to even think that his belief can be false or wrong. When enough evidence supports a scientific belief (hypothesis) it becomes a theory. If that belief cannot be refuted, then it becomes a law. However, a religious belief is accepted only based on faith in the authority that promotes it. It is a dogma and embraced because of fear. The scientific community rejects any belief that cannot be substantiated whereas the religious community wages war on those that reject her unsubstantiated claims, her dogmas. Because of the scientific attitude the quality of life has significantly improved and continues to improve. However, the fundamentalist attitude of religious people inhibits any progress and drives the world in dark ages, times and again. Which one will ultimately triumph? Will the cycle be unbroken? What is the most desirable ending? Thanks for sharing,
