Random Thoughts – Working & Garbage. My firm has this super huge gig each summer that requires 3 owners, 10 additional staff and the hiring of around 20 interns. It’s an insane job that takes up most of our time from June 10 to August 10. My workload this year is complicated in that I want to take some big vacations as it is Brianne’s last summer out of high school. So I’m going off to play in NC, MD, ME and the Bahamas but when I’m in Dallas I’m basically working 24/7 (“What’s a weekend?”) For the past 7 days it has been into the office at 6:00 am and home around 10:00 pm but since today is Sunday and I need a break I quit at 5:30 to decompress and change the oil in the Jeep. While the oil was draining I decided to walk to the end of the cul-de-sac. We have some neighbors that have upsized their house (a very popular move in Texas) and moved a mile or two away and left this house vacant for the last 3 months. Something most have transpired since there is a whole lot of stuff piled at the curb. I saw some people in pickup truck rummaging through this pile so I didn’t think I’d find anything but sitting on top is 4 brand new propane cylinders. Us Rankin’s are campers - these will fit nice on the Coleman stove. Who would throw these out? Probably same people that would pitch a bible – heathens’!
