Random musings from in-progress school board meeting (cultivated from my tweets -- twitter/John4SSF ): Presentations now on possible middle-school after school care providers Strong presentations from both ICES Education and Boys and Girls Club of North San Mateo County. Parent questions why trusted City of SSF Parks and Rec isnt being considered for the after-school program. Mayor Matsumoto earlier told Board that SSFUSD didnt give City enough time both to put together a bid and find money in budget. Board President Maurice Goodman asking Board to hold off choosing a provider in order to do more due diligence with additional parent input. Supt. Hogan says a couple weeks delay might be possible, but much more would risk not having program in place at beginning of school year. Trustee Patrick Lucy wants to make selection ASAP, because any delay puts a lot more stress on parents, kids. Board will punt decision on after-middle-school care to future meeting.
