Random thought: As someone who objectively evaluates baseball - TopicsExpress

Random thought: As someone who objectively evaluates baseball moves, including those of my favorite team, I have yet to see the Royals make a major league move I genuinely disagree with probably since they traded Wil Myers (and company) for James Shields (and company) in 12, and I will admit I was wrong about that, particularly in hindsight and in the context of the Royals urgency for playoffs. Offseasons in modern seasons are genuinely misunderstood: rewarding immediate gratification almost never gets second guessed three years later when the contract turns to dust and the prospects you surrender for that guy who can help you win in that one particular season gets overlooked. This has been a good offseason for the Royals. No draft picks surrendered, potentially heinous long term commitments, no prospects surrendered, and four roles, including Bruce Chens 14 role, filled for 2015.
