Random thought of the day Why are so many people dead-set into making SL Wrestling into this hugs and kisses-hand holding-we are the world community? This baffles me for multiple reasons. First, it doesnt seem to pan out because the majority of people in SL Wrestling seemed far more concerned with individual achievement more than solidarity. Before trying to bring the community together, look at most of the people youre trying to cater to. Its like herding cats. Second, SL Wrestling is separated by Groups (sometimes Families) and Individuals. You have individuals who show up, practice matches, perform in the shows and bail. They have no interest in what everyone else is doing and they like it that way most likely because they have a somewhat fruitful RL. Then you have the people that stay and support their friends and families. Most of these people do nothing but sit in SL all day and have little to no interaction with anyone outside of their monitors. This is why they develop these emotionally invested relationships some outside of virtual worlds would consider to be un-healthy. Third, and this may be a little tough to swallow, but the ones who seem to be so dedicated to making a Community Center that reaches out to everyone are the same people who just four years ago would have crucified anyone (other than them specifically) trying to make this happen. I know this for fact, because I worked and interacted with most of them intimately. Personally, I dont care to participate with this Community Center bullshit because I have little to no respect for most of those who are involved. And let me just make one last point and leave it where it is; Multiple individuals in this quest for uniting all of SL Wrestling publicly stated just a few months back that (paraphrasing) They control the majority of the feds in the SL Wrestling community therefor they would assure that all the feds in the self-proclaimed SLWC would ban against anyone they targeted as a determent. People who want to participate in these groups, Enjoy. SL is here for fun. Unfortunately, fun for so many of these people is creating and / or participating in immaturity and drama.
