Random thoughts on Continuation Day. I love the Buddhist term for Birthday..it is an acknowledgement of Continuation. These past few weeks have brought a more appreciative awareness of continuation and the power of sudden loss. Four friends from my past have passed these last few months. Some suddenly and without warning. Actually, we have a warning. Its given to us when we are born. We all have an expiration attached to this life. And thats the beauty and tragedy we live with. All of us on this side have grieved deep losses. Some of you have lost your children, spouses, dear and precious people. It is our path to be broken hearted and to be hearted for brokenness. Ok..this is not meant as a morose full tale of woe. I mean to appreciate this day of Continuation and to find the expressions just right for this day. So today, I will choose tea and not war and work towards changing all the tough and slimy obstacles that get in the way of my desire to be loving and kind. I appreciate each and every one of you.
