Rant Alert. Parents, if you are going to adopt a kitten then it is YOUR job to teach them to be kind and gentle and not tolerate any abusive behavior. Got an email about a 3 month old kitten that has been poked, pulled, grabbed, held down, etc for its entire short life by kids and now they want to take the kitten to animal control because it swats and bites. Of course it does!!! Wouldnt you if you were constantly tormented by people 10 times your size?? And if some understanding person isnt willing to intervene and patiently work with the kitten, he will die as unadoptable at animal control....all due to human irresponsibility. If you arent willing to show your children how to handle pets, just get stuffed animal toys.
