Rant for the day. I really must stop reading all the FB posts about Ebola. The amount of false and ridiculous information out there just angers me. I do have some questions for the hospital however. 1. Why werent your staff adequately trained? We spent much money and training in the last few years on bird flu and the potential for world pandemic. The isolation procedures translate to many illnesses. I took the required training course in TX even though I havent worked in hospital since 1989. 2. Why did 76 different people take care of him or have contact. Any infectious patient should have limited contact. Staff should be reduced to needed few required for immediate care to limit exposure. 3. Why didnt you insist on patient being transferred to another facility if you werent qualified to attend to these type of patients? I see lawsuits. Oh and BTW please, please get your flu shots. You are at way more risk of contracting influenza than you are Ebola. That is all.
