Rant no 2 While driving along Castle Hill road I noticed a huge housing development going in in an area that was heavily treed. Nearly all of the large trees have been pushed over to make way for houses. Personally I am in favor of such developments where established infrastructure and facilities exist and it provides for the need for more housing, especially in the Sydney region. So if its OK to knock down trees for houses why is it not OK to do it for farming? Are the greenies volunteering to eat bricks and wood so that the rest of us reasonable people can eat the food produced on an ever decreasing land base? I also say we should make the greens personally and financially responsible for life and property losses due to the inability of people to clear around their homes or do fuel load reduction burns in the case of bush fires. Lets do that and see how hard it is to get permission to clear and burn! Summing up, Australia would be much better off if we just made the greenies responsible for their decisions just like the farmers and developers are!
