#Rantalert. Today I question deeply the value system of this nation. We are so deeply engraved into our own lives forgetting the one African value that should guide us and that guided our ancestors, I am because you are. That being said as I was leaving my meeting at Yaya centre this afternoon, there was a man on the side seizing with foam coming out of his mouth and with a deep wound by his neck. Not even one person ahead of me including a man walking by as he is preaching, the word of God stopped by or even took a look at this fellow. I was concerned because I knew something wasnt right and I stopped lifted the barely clothed man and tried to give him my basic first aid skills that are seriously lacking. My attempts at shouting for help fell on deaf ears as people walked by as if nothing was happening. Eventually I was able to resuscitate the man, he took his medicine and I stayed with him until he was able to walk despite being late for my next meeting. We are so quick to complain that others do not help us yet we cant even stop to just make sure that those around us are quite okay. What is money? All this hustling and the struggle nonsense has blinded us from what true humanity is. We are rotting in our own individualistic selfishness that is engulfing us in wholes and before we realise it there will be no turning back. Check yourself. We keep on preaching the Bible, the Quran and all other spiritual messages yet we are the first ones to act against them. God is love! He is not what I just saw today.
