Rants & Raves: Kevin Kelly here. Please, help me understand this poll which found that 34% of Americans still think pennies are a good idea. I mean, it costs 2.41 cents to make them! And according to this article, the government spent nearly $169 million in 2013 just to put $70 million of currency into circulation. What? So, should the penny be retired? Does it still have a significant purpose? What are your thoughts? Chime in below
