Rapists walked free in a Thai night train, and committed their meanest crime during blackout. As a consequence, a 13-years-old girl was raped, killed and her body chucked out of the train. The problem is that the rapists were working on the train. The Thai Railway Authority so far has been trying very hard to avoid any kind of responsibility. Public transport in Thailand is not perfectly safe, and in some occasions women are victimized. When a rape case like this happens, public opinion would get sizzling with anger, but hardly any decisive actions to prevent it happen is taken, and the authorities do know that. Those who are at high level of the social layers wouldnt use public transport, but use their public car instead. The only one theyd use is airplane. Chatchart, the former Minister of Public Transport, got popularity precisely because he used public transport in front of the media. But actually this is a reflection of the fact that people of his class hardly use public transport. As long as the problem of the safety for passengers of public transport are tackled seriously, soon Thailand will become notorious for the unreliable public transport system. Do the people want to make this country known for such things?
