Rapture Study (Why the rapture must occur before the Tribulation): The word church is never used after the Laodicean church (Rev. 3) until Rev. 22:16, the end of future events. The absence of the church from chapter 4 through chapter 22 indicates that the church is not on earth during the Tribulation. The Laodicean church does not indicate a great time of tribulation on earth. If the church is to go through the Tribulation period, the last church period should reflect a time of great trouble, but it does not. The Laodicean church is not described as apostate, nor as antichrist, but rather as a lukewarm church.
