Rare Exquisite Herd, A Dynamic Management At Kamdhenu Gaushala, Nurmahal Says Dr. S.Ayyappan Secretary (DARE, Ministry of Agriculture, Government Of India) & Director General ( ICAR ) Kamdhenu Gaushala saw the dawn of a better and brighter tomorrow. A great day indeed! The event – Three prominent and very esteemed ‘Government of India’ representatives at the Nurmahal (Punjab) premises. They need little introduction as they are well known in the field. The dignitaries are- 1. Dr. S.Ayyappan. Secretary of the department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India as well as Director General of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) , New Delhi. 2. Dr. KML Pathak . Deputy Director General (Animal Sciences) (ICAR), New Delhi. 3. Dr. Vijay Kumar Taneja . Formerly Deputy Director General (Animal Sciences). (ICAR). Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat , GADVASU , Ludhiana , Punjab. The DG and DDG happily stated that it was a long time wish fulfilled today – The beautiful vision of our revered Indigenous Indian breeds of Cows ( Sahiwal, Gir , Tharparkar and Kankrej ) all under one roof . All three esteemed guests spent quality time with the cows, calves and bulls and appreciatively loved and fondled them. The cows too returned their love multiple times by licking them and nuzzling lovingly towards them. This is a rare bond that has to be experienced to be appreciated and our eminent guests had this rare privilege. Dr. Ayyappan stated that they have learnt and gained a lot in this visit. Seeing the best breeds of Indian Indigenous Cows at one place is a very surprising fact for us, he further said. The dedication, love and the care showered on the cows and the method of maintaining them with the attitude of reverential service is unsurpassed. He exclaimed that it is a rare sight indeed to observe a rare exquisite herd, a dynamic management all at one place. The indigenous breeds at ‘Kamdhenu Gaushala’ are a National Asset, he declared. This is a unique center in India which is incomparable as the best breeds are cared for reverentially. 4. Dr. KLM Pathak commented on the scientifically monitored care extended to the Breeds and said it should be followed by others too. He praised and commended the maintenance of complete data record for progeny testing and said it was a good effort on the part of the Gaushala. He said he felt exalted coming in this visit and said he would like to extend in future, collaboration with Kamdhenu Gaushala , so that the great work being carried out here , can be extended throughout the country . 5. Dr. Vijay Taneja too expressed his heart felt feelings in a similar vein. He had visited Kamadhenu Gaushala previously too. They all expressed their wish to partake the nutritious milk of these exemplary breeds and reverentially and humbly drank the milk . Along with Kamdhenu Gaushala our esteemed guests visited Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ayurvedic Pharmacy and saw the preparation of Ayurvedic products from the indigenous breeds milk, cow-urine popularly known as Gayatri rasayan etc. and also oversaw the packaging process
